CTO | Founder | Tableau Visionary

Our very own Tableau Visionary Merlijn is the Tableau-guru and one of the founders of Infotopics | Apps for Tableau. He lives in a small city named Hardenberg, which is also where our office is based. As he is always the person with crazy, innovative ideas, it’s not surprising that he is responsible for creating, developing, and updating our Extensions. Merlijn lives by the rule of thinking in solutions, and that’s why he loves to turn ideas into products that customers love. In his free time, he volunteers, giving speed skate training to children and adults.

CEO

Our always busy Richard is the CEO of Infotopics | Apps for Tableau. He loves to grow and improve our organization, taking care of numerous tasks and helping Tableau customers experience the value of our premium Tableau Extensions. Furthermore, he works closely with Tableau management and development. Leading the Infotopics | Apps for Tableau team gives him a lot of energy every day because customers experience enormous value using our Extensions. Essential values for him are teamwork, freedom, innovation, and having FUN! Richard was born and raised in Groningen, where he also started his career in Business Intelligence. He likes to spend time with his wife, kids, and dog in his free time. He is also very passionate about playing and coaching basketball and loves watching pro basketball at Donar Groningen.

Motivator | Professional Hugger

At an early age, Vizzy was fascinated with analytics, data, and coding. Vizzy loved working on big-data and using it’s analytical mind to solve challenges. Vizzy knew that it’s love for analytics, data, and coding made it unique, and Vizzy was proud of it! Vizzy was never one to seek attention, but it’s unique appearance and love for analytical challenges made Vizzy not go unnoticed in the big forest. Apps for Tableau and Vizzy created lots of TREX files and together they supercharge Tableau with game-changing writeback capabilities, powerful visualizations, and self-service analytics for everyone.

Vizzy told its friends, family, and the entire T-Rex population in the big forest about the extensions and helped everyone see and understand data in a very easy way! Vizzy knew it could help other T-Rexes with data and coding skills, and Vizzy became known as the go-to T-Rex for technical or data related challenges in the forest and far beyond.

CFO

Infotopics founder Ruud is our biggest fan! He loves creating (analytics) solutions that help people solve various business problems. At Infotopics | Apps for Tableau, Ruud continues to mix experience, entrepreneurship and his passion for data and technology to make the business grow. He is also responsible for showing us the correct numbers. He likes travelling, watching his food forest grow, and enjoying the outdoors while cycling or walking his Swiss shepherd Siggy in his leisure time.

Product Manager

Siebe grew up in Oldenzaal, a small town in the Eastern part of the Netherlands. He has a Chemical Engineering background but quickly discovered that everything computer-related was more appealing to him than the Chemical industry. In 2012, Siebe joined Infotopics and experienced first-hand the benefits of Tableau Software. In 2018, he joined Merlijn and Tjalling in starting the division ‘Apps for Tableau’, where he fulfilled the function of Product Manager. He likes to translate customer ideas and customer use cases into improvements, enhancements, or even new extensions.

“It was the best choice of my life to become part of the Infotopics | Apps for Tableau journey!” Siebe has many hobbies that he does in his free time. One of his passions is cooking (especially on his beloved green kamado BBQ), and he also likes to do recreational cycling and photography.

Developer

Yoram likes to work with intelligent, experienced, and talented people who are, just like him, passionate about data. This passion is also why he loves his job at Infotopics | Apps for Tableau! He has an educational background in IT & Application development, which grew his love for creating websites and apps. Yoram is one of the people who create the fantastic Extensions we offer, as he is part of our Developers team. His work revolves around building our premium Tableau Extensions and improving the digital workflows of the company. Next to his job, he volunteers in the fire brigade of the city he lives. Yoram likes gaming and experimenting with projects, mainly driven by data in his spare time.

Sales

Vincent is one of the people to contact if you’re curious and want to know more about our premium Tableau Extensions, as he is part of the Sales team. Vin is originally from London, but he moved to the Netherlands and is currently learning the complex Dutch language. Vin worked as an Operations Manager at a cemetery in the UK and was involved in digitalizing the area’s maps. That experience made it easier for him to understand Tableau and quickly get on board with Infotopics | Apps for Tableau. Vin is the perfect colleague to have around when you need some positivity. He’s a big Tottenham Hotspur fan and also likes to play amateur football in his spare time. He claims he will continue with it until his body says “no more”!

Industry Solutions Product Manager

Noushin is the Industry Solutions product manager at Apps for Tableau and brings even more value to customers from different industries. As a teenager, she was obsessed with math. She realized she was obsessed with using her analytical thinking skills to solve problems. After she finished her Mathematics bachelor’s, she chose a master’s in Business Administration. She has experience in data analysis and marketing and is always open to new challenges, which is why she wanted to work at Apps for Tableau. She likes working at Apps for Tableau because it is an ambitious, cool, and intelligent environment. Food, hiking and nature are her energy sources, and she loves to discover new mountains and delicious foods while travelling. When none of that is available, she enjoys drawing and reading books.

Developer

Harm Jan is one of our awesome developers with an exceptional can-do mentality. He is reliable, straightforward, and loves to make great Extensions. He grew up in Nijeveen and has always been busy constructing and programming. In addition, he did his master’s in Physics, which is closely related to programming. Helping people is his passion, whether at work or in his personal life. As a result, he takes a lifeguard job during the summer. He also likes drumming in his professional cover band, ensuring that all kinds of parties become unforgettable.

Developer

Anirudh grew up in Kerala, India. He came to the Netherlands to do his Master’s in Geoinformation Science and Urban Planning at the University of Twente. He has always been passionate about how “important” and “strategic” data is, which led to research in computational urban science and policy. There he explored how to harness the power of data for informed decision-making. He passionately believes that building tools to interact with data efficiently is crucial for informed decision-making in a world where complex interdependencies is a norm. What he likes most about our team are the freedom and opportunities to grow and learn, combined with the passion and energy that everyone at Infotopics shares fascinates him. In his free time, he likes photography and abstract art. He is also part of research groups and NGO’s working on environment/sustainability and rural development.

Researcher

Evelyn is our ProcessMining researcher. She grew up in Klijndijk, a small town in the North-Eastern part of the Netherlands. Being always open to new experiences, Evelyn moved to Twente for her study of Business Administration. She is currently combining a teaching job at the International Business School of Saxion UAS with research at Infotopics | Apps for Tableau. She loves the combination because it allows her to use the insights from our company in her classes and vice versa. According to Evelyn, working at Infotopics | Apps for Tableau is innovative because you have a lot of room for your ideas. In her free time, she loves to walk. Therefore, she is training for her goal: participating in the “Nijmeegse Vierdaagse,” a popular four-day walking competition.

Customer Success Manager

Born and raised in Hardenberg, Vincent is our Customer Success Manager. He takes care of all our amazing customers, ensuring they are happy and have everything they need for their use cases. Working with talented people from all over the world excites him. Driven by the values of honesty, reliability, and helping each other, he loves the informal way of working at Apps for Tableau where everyone tries to help wherever they can. He has 10 years of experience working in the Fashion Retail industry, and he has worked in the sales department of a wholesale company in technical parts in the eastern part of the Netherlands. He loves to watch movies, game with friends, cycle, spend time with his family, and visit several concerts of his favorite rock bands every year.

Developer

Being efficient, realistic and clear-headed are values that drive Sri, one of our talented developers. Although he was born in Mumbai, he lived in over six cities and has travelled extensively across India. He came to the Netherlands for his Bachelor’s in Computer Science. Sri likes to work at Infotopics | Apps for Tableau because of the conducive environment for newcomers to catch up and be creative. The fact that the team is very friendly, helpful, encouraging and optimistic motivates him to work even harder. When he is not bombarded with assignments and projects at the university, he likes to do some challenging physical activities, play the piano, hang out with friends, or prepare for certifications to become an ethical hacker.

Junior Developer

Always eager to learn and know more, Krijn is our very skilled Junior Developer. He grew up in a small village called Sibculo. Krijn has always had a great interest in computers and programming. He started learning how to program by himself when he was in high school. Currently, he is studying for his Bachelor’s in Computer Science. He likes working at Infotopics | Apps for Tableau because of the friendly and helpful team, who are very supportive. When he is not working or learning at school, he likes to hang out with friends.

Senior Developer

As a senior developer with all-round experience, Nico supports the team with all sorts of challenges. While collaborating on development projects, he will give different perspectives on problems. He grew up in Huizen and first started Electrical Engineering in Amsterdam. Halfway down his first year, he discovered that he liked Software Engineering even more, and he changed his education to Computer Science. He started working at a company where he developed an ERP Program. Two years later, he moved to the eastern part of The Netherlands, where he jumped into App Development. He started working at Apps for Tableau because of the hands-on approach, which allows the team to quickly respond to customers’ needs and bring more value to the products in an innovative way. Nico is a real family man, and most of his time is occupied by his two children. His Electrical engineering skills are still glowing in his spare time because he likes to work on various IoT projects to make his house smarter with self-made domotics.

Sales Support

If you need support, have questions, or want a demo, Koen is your guy. Born in Amsterdam but raised in Deventer, it took him some time to figure out what he wanted to study after high school. He found his passion in Business-IT, and you can expect to see a lot more of him once he graduates in 2023. The informal atmosphere and personal responsibility are why Koen loves working at Apps for Tableau. Responsibility is also the primary value that drives Koen: “Nobody is responsible for you, your actions, or your success other than you. If you mess up, the best thing is to own up to it and to do better next time.” He has an active lifestyle in his free time, and he likes to spend time with his girlfriend, pets, and (online gaming) friends.

Project Management

Being a real hands-on manager, Remco is our project management guy who doesn’t avoid challenges. He takes care of good planning, tests all the new features of our extensions, and makes sure that the marketing team is notified once a cool new feature is ready for release. Remco started as a carpenter and worked in construction for several years, but he ended up in IT. Remco worked as an IT manager at a construction company before starting his journey at Apps for Tableau. At our office, friendliness and creativity are what he likes the most. A workday doesn’t feel like a workday, and he wants to achieve great results with the team! Remco was born in Vlaardingen and moved to Hardenberg when he was three years old and still lives here with his girlfriend and two daughters. When he is not working, he really enjoys day trips with his family, spending time with his friends, and of course, helping family and friends with all kinds of carpentry jobs.

Marketing | Multimedia Design

Mare is our graduate student who is focused on audiovisual content creation and she creates videos that explain our products better. Mare is super creative and is specialised in Graphic (Media) Design and audiovisual content creation. She is currently studying Media, Information and Communication in Enschede but she grew up in Lochem. At Apps for Tableau she likes everyone’s energy, personalities and she loves the building we work in. When she is not working she likes to draw, paint, cook, watch movies and spend time with her rabbit who is always very energetic. Values that drive her are treating others with respect, sharing knowledge and creativity, which is why she is a perfect match with our company.

Developer

Born and raised in Apeldoorn, our developer Joost who has a background in Software and Information Engineering, likes to help our customers to create and improve value for their business. Over the past years, he was able to get a lot of experience developing applications. He created a traveling salesman solution for a delivery system at an electrical supply store in the UK, a fruit testing laboratory in New Zealand, and an Electronic patient dossier for a mental healthcare institute in The Netherlands. He values the freedom to be himself while making a noticeable difference and impacting very highly. He likes to work at Apps for Tableau because of the informal and fun work environment with a very energized and enthusiastic team of professionals. He likes to get out of his dev chair in his spare time by going for a run or hitting the gym. He also loves scuba diving and riding his motorcycle. If the weather keeps him inside, he likes to write some code for his raspberry pi, experiment with new technology, or play some video games with friends.

Meet Mike Driel, our passionate Software Developer at Apps for Tableau. Born and raised in the charming city of Deventer, Mike discovered his love for technology while studying ICT, all while balancing a part-time job flipping burgers. With a strong work ethic, a commitment to continuous learning, and a passion for technology, Mike thrives in the dynamic world of software development. At Apps for Tableau, he’s found a supportive environment among a friendly team with a lot of growth opportunities. In his free time, Mike deeply focuses on strategic chess matches, he likes to explores gadgets and computer hardware and has a passion for video gaming. He joined our team after completing his internship, embracing the opportunity to align his studies with his work, making Apps for Tableau a perfect fit for his professional journey.

Developer

Thomas, developer at Apps for Tableau, is committed to delivering the best customer experiences possible, ensuring every aspect is clear and bug-free. He finds satisfaction only when everything functions flawlessly and looks amazing. Having spent most of his life in Deventer, he studies ICT at the university. Thomas values the supportive and friendly team environment at Apps for Tableau. Outside of work, he is passionate about creating and playing roleplaying games like Dungeons and Dragons, sometimes even enjoying these games in the office. Currently, he is enthusiastically working on publishing his first online adventure as a personal project.

Meet Bas Hofstede from Gramsbergen, our talented Developer at Apps for Tableau. His journey with Apps for Tableau started as an intern, a stepping stone to his passion for developing innovative solutions. What keeps Bas going are the values of learning and curiosity, it drives him to discover something new every day. What he likes most about his work here are the fantastic colleagues who offer a lot of support and he likes that Apps for Tableau fosters a vibrant atmosphere with a lot of fun team activities. When he’s not busy with coding, Bas enjoys quality time with friends and family and he likes to listen and play music.
